From Social Science to Computational Social Science, Is Web Data the Key to a More Effective Analysis?

Abstract

I presented a case study of the use of social media data in computational social science (see paper Using social media to characterize urban mobility patterns: State-of-the-art survey and case-study), in order to highlight opportunities, challenges and open issues related to the use of new sources of data in this domain.
